The Beginning of the End

Fifty days after Calvary came the tsunami, whirlwind, the greatest cyclonic force since the Creation--the unleashing of powers that had been restrained for generations. Now the mystery could be revealed in full. It had been hidden for all these generations. Now it was opened up and the world was invited to take part--to drink of the fountain, to become partners. Those who drank of its healing waters are now a part of the caravan going into all the world giving the invitation, "Come, buy . . . without money and without cost" (Isaiah 55:1).

Calvary was the end of the beginning, but Pentecost was the beginning of the end. . . . These powerful happenings point us to the end of the story--the consummation. The first coming of Christ and the second alike are about this same Jesus.
